DBS Guidance
The GOV.UK website provides a collection of documents which details guidance and information about DBS checks and processes. You will also be able to find the DBS Privacy Policies in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Applicant guidance
There are a number of guides which you may find useful as an applicant, including, application form guidance and information regarding the sensitive applications route for transgender applicants. The Shared Services Integrated Business Centre (IBC) has also produced a video guide of the application form, for applicants.
You are also able to find out more about the DBS Update Service, which is an online subscription that enables you to keep your standard or enhanced certificate up to date and therefore employers can check your certificate online.

ID Verifier guidance
In order to support employers with validating the identity of a DBS check applicant, guidelines are available to support with the checking process and what ID is acceptable.
